Gorilla is a well-known feminized cannabis seed in the US. A descendant of the Chem family, she definitely lives up to her heritage with her unusual potency and aroma. This indica dominant hybrid has the potential to hold onto the purest indica genetics, as she demonstrated twice at the LA Cup and the Jamaican High Times World Championships in 2014, when she won both. Her appeal is simply astounding, and her light green buds seem almost sugar-frozen due to the breathtaking trichomes that cover them. Don’t be fooled by her hybrid structure, because her indica effect is as powerful as the punch of a huge silverback gorilla.
Gorilla is an indica dominant hybrid (60%), created by crossing Chocolate Diesel x Chem Sister x Sour Dubb . This cross is said to have happened quite by chance, when a Sour Dubb female was accidentally pollinated by a Chem Sister. As for her appearance, she looks exactly like a hybrid: a medium/large structure with medium-sized internodes and light green leaves. But don’t let her appearance fool you. Even if our eyes can’t tell, her Indica essence comes out as soon as we consume her.
Gorilla is a heavy yielder. Its main asset is its resin output: it produces lots of huge, sticky trichomes, hence the name Gorilla Glue. We can’t help but mention the globular, super dense, heavy, smelly and resinous buds it is capable of producing, which eventually become covered in striking white hues when fully ripe.
Besides being a shining example of exceptional quality, the resulting crop has amazing bag appeal, with lots of beautiful, dense and light green nuggets covered in shiny trichomes. In short, one of those genetics that immediately grabs our attention when a clear bag of weed is placed right in front of our eyes.
Gorilla displays very complex but very intense flavors and aromas. Of the Diesel and Chem, it clearly has a strong fuel aroma with sharp earthy notes. Similar to sour diesel, but with more intense sour nuances. This strain is also known for the high amount of terpenes it produces, mainly caryophyllene and humulene terpenes.
Gorilla delivers a super-potent high with THC levels up to 20%. It has almost no cannabidiol (CBD), making it suitable for those used to handling strong cannabis. The feeling, caused by its mostly Indica effect, is usually compared to the taste of a huge gorilla. That is to say, devastating.
Gorilla is not a demanding plant. It is quite easy to grow, but some basic knowledge is certainly necessary. Especially regarding the use of fertilizers: this strain cannot be overfed. That is why a standard diet is much preferable. The fact that it is not particularly resistant to moisture or lack of water means that the best we can do is to water it regularly and moderately. And of course, we recommend pruning it, concentrating mainly on the lower leaves and branches, so that the upper part can have enough strength and energy to thrive.
