With a photoperiod of 14 hours for growing seedlings and 16 hours for growing products, the electricity consumption per 1 m2 per day will amount to several kW/h. When recalculated for the entire productive area of the greenhouse, the amount of electricity consumption by lamps results in a huge value, significantly affecting the growth of the cost of production.

The use of LED lamps can reduce this value by at least 3 times. In addition to significantly lower power consumption, LEDs are able to provide greater compliance of the radiation spectrum of an agricultural lamp with the spectrum of photosynthesis efficiency, which allows reducing the required radiation power per unit of greenhouse area, and, consequently, the power of the lamp, resulting in an additional reduction in electricity consumption and, as a consequence, a reduction in costs.
