The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is a mountain range in northwestern Colombia. It rises to an altitude of 5,700 metres (19,800 ft), 42 km (26 mi) from the Caribbean coast; it is the world's highest coastal mountain range, covers an area of 17,000 square kilometres (6,700 sq mi), and is the source of 36 rivers.
These are the perfect conditions for a huge number of plants, including cannabis, and many strains thrive here. For over 40 years, cannabis enthusiasts and hippies in the States have included Santa Marta in their list of holy places, and some marijuana strains deservedly enjoy a good reputation, such as Santa Marta Gold , a yellowish Indica dominant strain.
Our Sugar Haze is a descendant of Santa Marta and the original Haze, one of Skunkman's most famous creations. The result is a fast flowering , Sativa-dominant Haze with THC levels of around 23%.
This strain has a sweet taste, but is a bit heavy, so it is not recommended for casual smokers. Through selection techniques we have managed to shorten the flowering time of this strain, now it is shorter than almost all Haze strains, to the point that it can be grown outdoors, and the plant is ripe by the end of October.
